The Philips FRx Infant/Child Key is what makes the FRx AED one of the most cost-effective defibrillators to own. Instead of requiring separate pediatric electrode pads, the FRx uses this reusable key to instantly convert the device into a pediatric defibrillator. When inserted, the FRx automatically adjusts both the shock energy and voice instructions for safe use on children under 8 years old or weighing less than 55 lbs.

How It Works
The same SMART Pads II are used for every rescue—adult, child, or infant. When the key is inserted, the AED recognizes that the patient is a child and reduces energy levels accordingly.
